Your window. Your choices. A clear online path.

Choose from custom shades, blinds and drapery for delivery in the United States. Begin with the room's light, privacy and appearance, then select a specific product. KALIA's online collection follows a DIY path: you measure each window and arrange installation yourself. Our team can help with product questions before you order.

Use the regional starting points below as planning prompts, not rules about your home. Window direction, neighboring buildings, room use and mounting space matter more than a region's name. Follow the exact model's instructions before deciding on your final dimensions.

Northeast: plan the fit and your layers

If your window has deep trim, a shallow recess or projecting handles, start with the mounting position. Check usable depth and moving parts for the exact shade, rather than reusing an old blind's size. If you prefer a layered look, plan a Roman shade or roller alongside drapery, leaving space for each treatment to move. Shade opening measurements are separate from finished curtain panel sizes.

Midwest: compare rooms and daily routines

If several windows serve different routines, make a separate plan for each room. A bright living area and a bedroom used for daytime sleep may need different fabrics. Compare cellular and roller styles for the appearance and light control you want. Compare each model's fabric, mounting needs and available lift options before deciding. Review privacy after dark, edge light and the offered lift method before choosing one model for the whole home.

South: separate glare control from privacy

If strong direct sunlight reaches a desk, television or seating area, compare roller and solar fabrics for the daylight you want to keep. Check the exact fabric's openness and color in your room. Solar fabric that preserves a daytime view should not be assumed to provide nighttime privacy. For a sleeping space, compare blackout fabric and planned coverage, remembering that light can still enter around the installed shade.

West: balance the view and everyday access

If you want an open view, consider how the treatment will look both raised and lowered. For tall or harder-to-reach windows, compare available motorized models and plan power or charging access before measuring. Smart controls have model-specific hub and platform requirements. Check the dimensions, size range and mounting requirements for every opening, then confirm that your selected shade and motor suit each window.

Four checks before you customize

  1. Compare real fabric. Request swatches and review color, texture and light beside your own window.
  2. Choose the exact model. Check its offered mount, lift, lining and accessories. Not every model supports the same combinations.
  3. Measure each window. Follow the measuring guide and product-specific instructions. Keep your original readings and review the displayed units.
  4. Review the complete order. Confirm dimensions, color, controls and quantity alongside the configured price. Drapery quantities are individual panels; a pair requires two.
