KALIA Buying Guide
How to choose curtain panel width and length
KALIA drapery is ordered by the individual panel. Plan the support and the finished coverage first, then enter the width and length for one panel.
Choose the hardware before the panel dimensions.
The window opening is not the same as the span you want the fabric to cover. First decide where the rod or track will sit and how the panels will open. Confirm the intended coverage, stacking space, overlap and returns for that hardware and heading. Do not infer a rod length by adding panel widths or assume that all rings, hooks and runners fit every heading.
For KALIA’s pleated headings, the requested width is the finished width after pleating. The fabric fullness is already included in that heading. Do not multiply the finished width again using a general curtain-fullness formula from another retailer.
| Choice | What to plan | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| Width entered | Finished width of one panel; pleated width for a pleated heading. | Do not enter the pair’s total width into each panel. |
| Length entered | From the actual fabric hanging point to the intended finished edge. | Allow for the chosen hooks, rings or track position. |
| Quantity | Number of individual panels with the same configuration. | Choose quantity 2 for an identical pair. Hardware is a separate selection. |
Work through one window at a time.
- Confirm the planned coverage. Include any overlap or returns required for your hardware before splitting the coverage between panels. Ask about the exact fittings if this is unclear.
- Decide the panel arrangement. If an already-confirmed plan calls for 80 inches of combined finished coverage, an evenly split pair would use two 40-inch finished panels. That example does not add an overlap or establish the rod length.
- Measure the hanging length. Start at the actual fabric hanging point, not automatically at the top of the window or rod. Measure at several positions if the floor or ceiling is uneven. Choose whether the fabric finishes above the floor, at it or with additional length.
- Enter one panel’s dimensions. Choose inches with available fractions or centimeters with decimals, then check the product’s accepted range. Keep your original readings and review the displayed units before ordering.
Review fabric, heading and quantity together.
Choose a lining for the light effect you want; it does not change the need to measure carefully. A blackout lining does not guarantee a completely dark room because light may enter around the installed treatment. Compare physical fabric swatches in the room when deciding color and texture.
One quantity purchases one configured fabric panel. Select two for an identical pair; panels with different measurements need separate configurations. Optional hardware has its own measurements, quantity, included components and price. Review each item before adding it to the bag. KALIA’s online drapery collection does not offer tiebacks or memory shaping as configurable additions.
