KALIA Buying Guide

Window treatment buying guides

Start with the room, then work toward the details. These guides connect the look you want with the measurements and choices you will make online.

Updated · Product options set the final requirements.

Four decisions that shape your window.

You do not need to decide every detail at once. Begin with how the room is used: working in daylight, resting after dark, or enjoying a view. Then compare a small number of treatments that can meet that need. A color you like is a useful starting point, but fabric appearance, the mounting position and the way a shade moves all deserve a separate check.

Use the four guides below to build a shortlist. Each one explains a different decision, so you can compare products without assuming that one fabric, motor or measuring rule applies to every window.

A practical path from idea to order.

  1. Name the job. Write down the room, when it is used and the light or privacy concern. Keep each window’s notes separate, even when the openings look similar.
  2. Compare in the room. Use physical fabric swatches to judge texture and color in your own lighting. Screen images and illustrations help you explore; they do not replace a fabric sample or a size check.
  3. Choose the exact model. Read its mount, lift, motor and size options before finalizing measurements. A no-drill or motorized choice can have different clearance requirements.
  4. Review before ordering. Confirm units, measurements, color, controls and quantity on the product page. For drapery, one quantity is one panel. Optional rods and tracks are separate selections.

Where offered, enter inches with the product’s available fractions or centimeters with decimals. Keep the original readings rather than rounding them to resemble an example. The selected product validates its own size range and increments.

KALIA’s online collection is for customers planning their own measurements and installation. Our Natick team can answer product questions; a showroom visit is optional. If a measurement or fitting remains unclear, ask about that exact model before placing the order.
